We are in trouble. Our financial system is in chaos, we are engaged in two wars. We vacillate between two extremes, the so called liberal left and the so called conservative right. Words mean more than actions and labels are more important than deeds. The press (or media whichever you prefer) which was suppose to be the watchdog of freedom, has become a nothing more than a promoter of biased infomercials that are for sale to the highest bidder. Our boarders are totally unprotected. Our so called political leaders spend more time in photo ops than in doing their jobs. Our business leaders spend more time on lobbying the government than they do on running their businesses. There are more than 35,000 federal lobbyists and they have spent over 2.1 billion dollars per year since 2004. We rave and rant about this and that and accomplish nothing except to feed a media which lives on scandal like a vampire lives on blood feeding on rumors and half truths while the truth lies dead and decaying like a rotting corpse All this is being cause by a broken political system . It no longer works because it is not being run by the people; it is now being run by politicians. From president Obama down to my congressman John Linder the wrong people are in charge. Now I do not believe that either the president or my congressman are inherently evil or bad people, if fact I know my congressman, John Linder, is a nice guy who is trying his best to do the right thing, but he is as corrupt as is the president as are all the Senate and the House members. They have been corrupted by power, they all have been in power too long and have lost all contact with both the people of this country and the needs of the nation (yes even the president who has only been in office for 6 months). This corruption comes from a political system formed by great men, men who realized that any government run by democratic elections will eventually produce a political class, a ruling class that will act, as all men do, in their own best interest and a political class’s best interest is staying in power, and in that case, staying in power, they have been immensely successful. If you go back to where it started, the dispute between Adams and Jefferson, you can see that they also had the best of reasons for forming the dual political party system; it worked and built a great nation. But, their fears of a totalitarian government are now here, the government of the United States is no different any more than any other government run by a ruling class, no different than China or Iran. Oh, you can point to the last couple of elections and say that was democracy in action, but was it really. Is not President Obama following in President Bush’s steps with the wars in the Mideast, bailouts of failed financial institutions etc etc.?No, we only changed the labels from Republican to Democratic (or as has been pointed out by many observers two wings of the same corrupt political party), that’s all nothing else has changed. We are still in a deep recession, the wars still rage and the value of the dollar is still declining. If you ask any of our so called political or business leaders what should we do, they tell you another stimulus or cut taxes or etc. but what they are really saying is keep us in power, keep us in power. If you check out most of these so called experts you will notice they all either went to the same schools or in the case of our financial leaders worked for the same investment banking firm. So, all their ideas, if you can call them ideas, are the same. How can people who have no idea of the needs of the general population do the right thing? How can my congressman, john Linder, understand my struggle to make a living when all he has to do is vote himself a raise, how can congressman Barney Frank understand my worries about health insurance when he has a health plan that pays for everything and does not cost him 10% of his income. If I want to go on vacation I have to save and give up something else, while congresswoman Pelosi just calls up the pentagon and orders a plane. These people, the political class have lost all contact with the real world, they do not understand the daily struggle to survive that “We the People” have to contend with every day, they have insulated themselves from it. Want to go to lunch at some expensive bistro call up a lobbyist they will pick up the tab, want to play golf at pebble beach call some Hollywood activist they will get you a starting time. The people’s children go to some underfunded public school while the political class’s kids get the best education that money can buy (the Peoples money). It is not too late to fix this problem, but we are running out of time. It is time to change the whole system; it is time for a new revolution. It is time”we the people” took back what is ours by right and the grace of god as written by men like Adams and Jefferson. When Eisenhower warned “bewares the military industrial complex” we listened and then promptly forgot. Each year the government seizes more power and the people (we all) lose more and more freedoms. Each year Congress passes more and more laws, laws that are like dirt being shoveled over a casket in the grave. Inside that casket are our children’s future and our own freedom. It is time to throw them all out. Right now a debate is raging over health care, on television over the internet and in the papers all sides are spending loads on money to protect their own little fiefdoms (or as they all claim their rights). The president wants to tax everyone to pay for a universal health care plan (that won’t work), the insurance industry wants to protect a very profitable part of their business and health care providers want more money. But all you hear from them all is the same old lies and distortions, no one really cares about what will work or what won’t work just what is it for their own special little interest group. No new ideas, no new proposals only the same old bull. It is time to clean house it is time to get rid of the Obama’s, the Linder’s, the Franks, it is time get rid of both the republican and democratic parties it is time to start governing ourselves. We must do this now or soon we lose everything we hold dear, all our freedoms. A great war is coming soon, a war between two ideologies, those of our founders (freedom, democracy and the rule of law) and that of totalitarian government. Totalitarian capitalism is growing and spreading from China. Religious totalitarianism is spreading from Radical Islam (Saudi Arabia & Iran) across the Mideast and into Europe; soon we will once more stand alone against these threats, as we stood against Hitler in 1941 and Stalin in 1946. But this time we do not have a Truman or an Eisenhower to lead us, we have the likes of Joe Biden and a bunch of no name republicans. We must get rid of these so call politicians we must vote them all out in the next election, and keep voting them out until we once again have a government run by the people, until we get rid of both these corrupt parties (republicans and democrats) and destroy their grip on the seats of power we will not ever regain what so many have died for (from Concord to Gettysburg to Normandy to etc), our right to determine our own destiny. We must all act now together, recall your Senator and congressman, don’t vote the straight party line and don’t give any money to these totally corrupt parties; starve them out of existence, If not you will wake up one morning and realize Sinclair Lewis was wrong “It can happen here”, and unless we take back what is rightfully ours it will.
